We know times are tight, and films might seem an expense you just can’t stretch to. But there are ways to reduce costs. We’re not about getting as much out of you as possible – we want to create great content that works for you.
Here are a few ways to keep costs down:
Plan ahead
We work to really nail the brief, script and timeline from the start. Sticking to the plan means there is less chance of having to add in late changes which can bump up the cost. Involving all stakeholders early helps to ensure that everyone is on board with what’s happening, agrees the storyboard, and you’re not having to change things around last minute.
Keep it tight
Do you really need a week of filming? We are efficient and know how to shoot to maximise the schedule. Every extra day costs more, so ask us how we can work effectively.
Contingency
Plan for things to go wrong – they will. It’s a fact. The good news is we have been doing this so long we know the potential issues, and always build in contingencies.
Be lean
Don’t worry, we’re big on the snacks. But we keep the crew size small. A lean team can be more flexible and reduce costs related to transportation, food, and accommodation.
Use real people
Ask your employees to be involved rather than actors – as casting agencies command a hefty fee. If you’re a charity and asking service users they should always be paid for their time, and given expenses and lunch.
Post-production
Raw footage just won’t cut it. We do the editing, color grading, and sound so you get the perfect product. But if needed we can limit the use of expensive visual effects and work our magic with the basics.
Work with an agency
Working with one expert agency can actually help keep costs down, as it’s a one in fee and you know what you’re getting. You also know it’s done well, and there will be no extra work needed.
And we just might well be that agency….
