great films with a purpose

As a social enterprise, we put our money where our mouth is. We use our experience as a production company and the income we generate to create training and employment opportunities for offenders and ex-offenders.

IJP also uses its income to fund the development of projects that serve a social purpose. These projects are delivered through our founder organisation Media for Development, which works to empower isolated communities through media.

what we do with our income
Older Offenders Project

The Older Offenders Project is an innovative new program which has been created to develop the participation older people play in prison, to support their resettlement needs. As older offenders are the fastest growing group in prison and experience discrimination and isolation far too often, their needs have become a priority.

This project has been instigated by older people and the projects activities will also be developed, produced and delivered by this group to enable them to take ownership of their resettlement needs, in turn allowing them to develop new skills and confidence.

We have created a full resettlement pack using a mixture of media including information packs, a CD based drama and fact sheets. The pack is also designed to allow older offenders to be effective trainers for other serving prisoners in how to use material. This will allow the project to become an evolving and sustainable program. We believe this will become a key resettlement tool, which will promote the care, resettlement and rehabilitation of this minority group.
